Yesterday I wrote a little travel journal entry that spoke about my third favourite place to travel to. Today I want to talk to you about my second favourite place I’ve visited…

Paris

Paris takes second place when asked, “Where’s your favourite travel destination?” From the daily morning croissant to the midday baguette and evening glass (or three!) of red, Paris hands you delicious food and drink in abundance to help fuel you through the plethora of sights and experiences it has to offer. I visited early last year to celebrate my 21st Birthday and I can’t imagine a more perfect place to do so.

Paris is famous for its beauty and it’s certainly evident around every corner. It felt live a never-ending adventure when we were in Paris; which is exactly what we were after. We walked, walked and kept on walking, popping in and out of famous sites and stopping off in little bars to have a beer or a glass of wine.

Top 3 attractions

  1. Eiffel Tower
  2. Parc Des Buttes-Chaumont
  3. Arc de Triomphe

Food favourite

Out of all of the city breaks I’ve been on, Parisian food was my favourite. Every meal was exciting for me but I think macaroons win the award for my food favourite. On the last day we went to a local patisserie and picked out a handful of macaroons; pink, brown, green, white and purple. We carried them to Parc Des Buttes-Chaumont, plonked ourselves on a bench and did a taste test.

Go-to drink

Regrettably I can’t name the specific wine but, alongside a duck dish on our first night, we shared the nicest red wine. And if you can’t drink wine in Paris, where can you?!

Holiday blues stayed with me for a long time after this trip. Nearly a year on and I think I still have them. Have you been to Paris? Let us know in the comments below before checking back in tomorrow to find out my most favourite place I’ve visited!
